This will be my first attempt at making a metal item that is something that you can use on a daily basis, and hopefully is stylish. It all started when we were coming home and were talking about what we like. I of course said that Mad Max was my favorite thing. If you have ever watched "Mad Max and the Thunderdome", you know what I mean. The vehicles in this movie were really neat. Other things that I like is the whole "Burning Man" Concept. Starting out was not to hard, except the freewheel, which I destroyed at least two of them before I finally figured out that counter clockwise was my friend and a nut is not always a nut. I looked at bike choppers for my inspiration and the frame is strong enough that I suppose I could add a small motor to it.
I think the back tire as off a Mazda or something, and the front tire was off of a BMX bike. At this point there is about two bikes in the Chopper

I got the front pedals on and also attached the down tube. As I am going I am cleaning up the welds. If you look on the floor I have the chain put together and got the two gears for the rear transmission. Great thing is that the bike almost stands on its own.

So I ran into some trouble with the rear gear box and my axle, It broke twice, WTH!!
Finally after taking it apart twice and re-welding it on the hi setting this time. it is holding up really good. It seams that the final adjustment need to be tweaked for the chain and rear transmission. Also need to put some fenders on the end product. Not today though. Today is test drive day. Got a seat on it that need to put padding on set cover, so the ride is a bit uncomfortable, but satisfing.
Woohoo!!!
Figured the chain issue. had to do with two different size chains. one was from a 10 speed and the other from a bmx and the peddles were from bmx and it kept sticking at that section. Made it around the block two times and everything is aok. Though had to let some air out of the tire. my ass hurts.
Below is the finished product.
